Today we're releasing two features we've wanted in ResuPals from the start: the Template Editor and a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) Resume Builder. Together they move most of your editing to where it belongs, directly on the resume itself.

Template Editor: Your Resume, Your Design

Ever wished you could tweak that font size or change the accent color on your resume template? Now you can.

Full Creative Control

The Template Editor opens up details that used to be fixed:

Typography: choose from ATS-friendly fonts and adjust sizes for headers, body text, and your name
Color: set your accent color, text colors, and background with preset palettes or custom hex values
Layout: fine-tune margins, header alignment, and section spacing
Sections: reorder them, toggle visibility, and rename section titles

Real-Time Preview

Every change shows up instantly in the preview pane. What you see while designing is the file you export.

ATS Score Display

Our ATS validation system now runs inside the editor. As you customize your template, you'll see:

An overall ATS compatibility score
Section-by-section analysis
Specific recommendations for improvement
Warning indicators for potential issues

WYSIWYG Resume Builder: Edit Where You Type

Traditional form-based resume builders make you fill out fields in one place and check the result in another. The new editor removes that split.

Click-to-Edit Interface

Click any text in your resume preview and edit it right there. No more switching between form tabs and preview tabs.

Drag-and-Drop Organization

Reorder sections by dragging them to new positions
Rearrange entries within sections (jobs, education, etc.)
Visual drop indicators show exactly where items will land

Smart Field Editors

Different content types get specialized editors: a rich text editor for job descriptions with bullet points and formatting, a date picker for consistent date formatting, and a skills editor with autocomplete from our 1,000+ skill database. On desktop the editors float next to the field; on mobile they open as bottom sheets.

New Pages and Platform Updates

This release also includes several new pages and improvements.

The new pricing page compares our free and premium tiers feature by feature. Core features remain free forever. We think everyone deserves a good resume, whatever their budget.

Block-Based Rendering

We rebuilt our export system around a block-based architecture. Styling is now consistent across PDF, DOCX, and preview. Pagination and page breaks behave better, and styles adapt to the Classic, Modern, and Minimal themes.

Skills Bank

The new skills database holds over 1,000 industry-specific skills spanning technology and software development, business and management, creative and design, healthcare and sciences, and more.

ATS Validation Engine

The validation system checks contact information completeness, section naming conventions, font and formatting choices, keyword density and placement, and file format compatibility.
